Resolution to Announce a Vacancy 

 

WHEREAS, the Weld Re-8 School District did not receive any candidate petitions for Director District C for the November 4, 2025, regular biennial election, the Board recognizes there is a vacancy. 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of Weld Re-8 School District declared an official vacancy for Director District C on November 13,2025 

 

and 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board would like to begin advertising for the vacancy immediately in order to expedite the process of appointing a new school board member to Director District C.

  

Be it further resolved that, in accordance with state law, the Board will fill the vacancy by appointment within 60 days in accordance with the following procedure: 

  1. Interested persons are invited to send a resume and a signed Affidavit of School Director 

Candidate for Appointment on Qualifications for Office by December 2, 2025 to Debra 

Smith [email protected].  

 

  1. The Board will interview prospective candidates on December 4, 2025 at a public 

Meeting.

 

  1. To be eligible for appointment, a candidate must be a registered elector of Weld Re-8 

Schools District C.  

 

  1. The appointee will serve until the next regular school biennial election in November 2027

[at which time an election will be held for a successor to fill the remainder of the unexpired term.]

 

  1. The selected appointee will need to commit to attending the CASB Conference 

December 10 - December 13, 2025.
