Preschool Enrollment

The 2026-2027 Universal Preschool Enrollment is currently open.  All students wishing to attend Preschool will need to complete the Universal Preschool Enrollment as well as a Weld Re-8 enrollment application.  For more information about Universal Preschool Enrollment, please contact Karmen Sawicki at telephone number 303-857-3300.
 

 

 

2026-2027 Fall Preschool Registration

 

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year for Universal Preschool begins on December 9th and the link to the portal will be accessible on this page.  Preschool placements are on a first come first serve basis.  Register early to have a better chance at a preferred session.

Preschool for Three Year Olds
  • FAMILIES WITH 3 YEAR OLDS WILL NOT BE COMPLETING AN APPLICATION IN UPK, UNLESS THEY ARE ON AN IEP.
  • Students who are three-years old, on or before October 1, 2026, may qualify for UPK with a qualifying factor.  View UPK’s qualifying factors on the Colorado Department of Early Childhood’s UPK website. 
  • Families who are interested and qualify for UPK are required to complete their direct enrollment with their school of choice.  
 Preschool for Four Year Olds 
  • All children who are four-years old, on or before October 1, 2026, are eligible for free district half-day preschool (AM or PM session) through Universal Preschool (UPK) programming.
  • Families who are interested in UPK are required to complete the UPK application.
  • All families will sign up for an informal developmental screening before the school year begins.
 

 

Submit all required documents either in the Weld Re-8 Infinite Campus Online Registration Application or to the school directly.

 

Required Documents for registration include the following:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Address (such as a utility bill)
  • Immunization Records
  • Current Physician's Physical
 
The registration process is not complete until you also register with the Colorado Universal Preschool Portal and all documents are submitted.
 

Important Information

  • Spots are limited.  Enrollment priority will be granted to 4-year-old families living inside our district borders.
  • All enrolling students must be 3 or 4 before October 1st to attend.  Students who are turning 3 after the start of school will start once they have turned 3.

 

2025-2026 Preschool Matching Timeline

 

Pre-Registration

  • December 9 to February 2:  Preschool Pre-Registration begins.  Applications will be submitted through the Universal Preschool Portal.
  • February 2:  Returning preschoolers, preschoolers with siblings and children of Weld Re-8 employees will be notified of their UPK placement.  Families must accept their match through the UPK Portal.
  • February 12 - March 3:  General application families are notified of the UPK placement.  Families must accept their match through the UPK Portal by March 3.
  • March 24 - Second Round of Matching - all families from after February 25th and mid march.
  • April 1 through the School year - Direct enrollment begins.
