2024 - 2025 Universal Preschool Enrollment Opens 2/29/24

The 2024-2025 Universal Preschool Enrollment is expected to begin for all families on February 29, 2024. All students wishing to attend Preschool will need to complete the Universal Preschool Enrollment as well as a Weld Re-8 enrollment application. 2024-2025 Fall Preschool Registration

To better serve our families and to support a timelier student placement, WELD RE8 Schools is offering families the opportunity to complete the district’s online registration process alongside the state’s Universal Preschool (UPK) Application, which is currently expected to be available in early February 2024.

Families that register in February will receive a notification of their placement status from Weld RE8 Schools by the end of February, 2024. Families will receive ongoing support and communication from Weld RE8 Schools while they navigate the UPK process.

Preschool for Three Year Olds

FAMILIES WITH 3 YEAR OLDS WILL NOT BE COMPLETING AN APPLICATION IN UPK, UNLESS THEY ARE ON AN IEP.
Students who are three-years old, on or before October 1, 2024 may qualify for UPK with a qualifying factor. View UPK’s qualifying factors on the Colorado Department of Early Childhood’s UPK website.
Families who are interested and qualify for UPK are required to complete their direct enrollment with their school of choice.
Schools will begin communicating confirmed student enrollment by the end of March.

Preschool for Four Year Olds

All children who are four-years old, on or before October 1, 2024, are eligible for free district part-time preschool (AM or PM session) through Universal Preschool (UPK) programming.
Families who are interested in UPK are required to complete the UPK application once it becomes available, anticipated in early 2024.
Schools will begin communicating confirmed student enrollment beginning in late March.
Families will need to have registered in the Districts Online Portal before they can sign up for an orientation slot.

To enroll your child in a Weld Re-8 Preschool program, you will need to do the following:

Preschool Registration opens in late February. All applicants will be reviewed by the ECE Department.	Once the colorado UPK portal opens for the 2024-2025 school year, all parents and caregivers MUST APPLY for a preschool spot, (3 and 4 year olds) using the UPK Portal.

Returning Preschool families Online Registration	Access date for the portal has not been announced, anticipating late February.

The enrollment process is not complete until you also register with the Colorado Universal Preschool portal, which will open in early 2024.
Important Information Spots are limited. Enrollment priority will be granted to 4-year-old families living inside our district borders. All enrolling students must be 3 or 4 before October 1 st to attend. Students who are turning 3 after the start of school will start once they have turned 3.
