Preschool Enrollment

The 2025-2026 Universal Preschool Enrollment is currently open.  All students wishing to attend Preschool will need to complete the Universal Preschool Enrollment as well as a Weld Re-8 enrollment application.  For more information about Universal Preschool Enrollment, please contact Karmen Sawicki at telephone number 303-857-3300.
 

 

 

2025-2026 Fall Preschool Registration

 

Registration for the 2025-2026 school year for Universal Preschool begins on December 17th and the link to the portal will be accessible on this page.  Preschool placements are on a first come first serve basis.  Register early to have a better chance at a preferred session.

After March 1st, the 2nd part of preschool registration will open through Weld Re-8's Infinite Campus Online Registration.

 

Preschool for Three Year Olds
  • FAMILIES WITH 3 YEAR OLDS WILL NOT BE COMPLETING AN APPLICATION IN UPK, UNLESS THEY ARE ON AN IEP.
  • Students who are three-years old, on or before October 1, 2025, may qualify for UPK with a qualifying factor.  View UPK’s qualifying factors on the Colorado Department of Early Childhood’s UPK website. 
  • Families who are interested and qualify for UPK are required to complete their direct enrollment with their school of choice.  
 Preschool for Four Year Olds 
  • All children who are four-years old, on or before October 1, 2025, are eligible for free district half-day preschool (AM or PM session) through Universal Preschool (UPK) programming.
  • Families who are interested in UPK are required to complete the UPK application.
  • Families will need to have registered in the Districts Online Portal before they can sign up for an orientation slot.
 

 

After March 1st, the 2nd part of preschool registration will open through Weld Re-8's Infinite Campus Online Registration.

 

Submit all required documents either in the Weld Re-8 Infinite Campus Online Registration Application or to the school directly.

 

Required Documents for registration include the following:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Address (such as a utility bill)
  • Immunization Records
  • Current Physician's Physical
 
The registration process is not complete until you also register with the Colorado Universal Preschool Portal.
 

Important Information

  • Spots are limited.  Enrollment priority will be granted to 4-year-old families living inside our district borders.
  • All enrolling students must be 3 or 4 before October 1st to attend.  Students who are turning 3 after the start of school will start once they have turned 3.

 

2025-2026 Preschool Matching Timeline

 

Pre-Registration

  • December 17 to February 3:  Preschool Pre-Registration begins.  Applications will be submitted through the Universal Preschool Portal.
  • February 3 to February 10:  Returning preschoolers, preschoolers with siblings and children of Weld Re-8 employees will be notified of their UPK placement.  Families must accept their match through the UPK Portal on or before February 10.
  • February 12 - March 3:  General application families are notified of the UPK placement.  Families must accept their match through the UPK Portal by March 3.
 
Ongoing Registration for the 2025-2026 School Year
  • March 10 - Second Round of Matching - all families from after February 9th
  • March 31 - Families will be notified by the preschool of their placements.  Families must accept their match through the UPK Portal on or before March 31.
  • April 1 through the School year - Families contact Weld Re-8 Preschool to Enroll.
