Early Childhood Education
Weld Re-8 School District's Early Childhood Education (ECE) program is dedicated to cultivating a foundational love of learning from the earliest possible age, providing a vital start for the youngest members of our community. We offer a holistic and enriching educational experience in a stimulating, nurturing, and highly engaging environment. Our focus is on being a supportive partner to parents in nurturing happy, curious, and well-adjusted young learners.
Our Programs at a Glance
We offer a range of programs tailored to meet the specific developmental needs of children from 6 weeks through the age of five:
● Infant Program (Ages 6 weeks to 1 year): Focuses on fostering secure attachments, supporting rapid physical, cognitive, and social-emotional growth, and maintaining consistent, individualized routines for feeding, sleeping, and play.
● Toddler Program (Ages 1 to 3 years): Designed to support the whole child through play-based learning and creative arts, this program is organized into two distinct classrooms (1-2 year olds and 2-3 year olds) to focus on early sensory exploration, communication, self-help skills, and preparation for pre-school concepts.
● Three-Year-Old Program (Ages 3 to 4 years): Provides a crucial preparatory experience for Pre-K, focusing on increased independence, complex language use, and the acquisition of foundational pre-school concepts necessary for successful transitions.
● Four-Year-Old Pre-K Program (Ages 4 to 5 years): A critical stepping stone that provides a comprehensive, standards-aligned educational experience to ensure every child is fully prepared for success in Kindergarten. Classes are fully integrated within our elementary schools (Twombly and Butler Elementary).
