Three-Year-old Program
Weld Re-8 School District's Three-Year-Old Program is dedicated to cultivating a foundational love of learning, providing a crucial preparatory experience for the next phase of education. We offer a holistic and enriching educational experience in a stimulating, nurturing, and highly engaging environment specifically designed for children between the pivotal ages of three and four years old, with a strong focus on Pre-K readiness.
Safety and Supervision:
The well-being and security of every child are our paramount concerns. We ensure continuous, vigilant supervision provided by a team of compassionate, reliable, and experienced adult caregivers. Our child-to-staff ratios are maintained to guarantee personalized attention and care for each child throughout the day, while encouraging increased independence and self-help skills.
Curriculum and Activities:
Our curriculum is developmentally appropriate, focusing on the whole child by supporting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Using the Learning without Tears curriculum, three-year-olds participate in a diverse range of stimulating, daily activities that promote exploration and development.
● Play-Based Learning: Structured activities and cooperative free play are essential for developing creativity, problem-solving skills, and the critical skills of group social interaction and rule-following.
● Creative Arts: Artistic creations, including painting, drawing, and crafting, foster fine motor skills, expressive language, and imaginative self-expression using a variety of materials.
● Music and Movement: Group singing, guided dancing, and structured movement activities support advanced gross motor development, rhythm, listening skills, and the ability to follow multi-step directions.
● Early Literacy and Language: Introduction to phonological awareness, letter and sound recognition, rich storytelling, and interactive language games helps lay a strong foundation for future reading success and expanded vocabulary.
● Social-Emotional Development: Activities focus on self-regulation, empathy, conflict resolution, cooperation, and building positive peer relationships in a group setting.
Program Structure:
The Three-Year-Old Program focuses on increased independence, complex language use, and the acquisition of foundational pre-school concepts necessary for a successful transition to Pre-K and Kindergarten.
