RE: Salary schedule advancement
Teachers who have earned additional university credits may move horizontally on the salary schedule in September or January. Guidelines are as follows:
1. Additional hours beyond the BA will be accepted only after state certification/licensure requirements have been met.
2. Columns are generally in increments of 10 semester hours (BA+10, 20, and 30, MA+10, 20, 30, and 40 with the exceptions of BA+50, 70, 90, etc., and MA+60)
3. Graduate-level courses accepted.
4. Weld County School District Re-8 workshops and professional development experiences will be accepted for horizontal salary schedule advancement. In addition, pre-approved undergraduate and CDE Professional Development Experiences may also be used for horizontal salary advancement, based on the district goals, nature of the coursework, and relevance to the teaching assignment.
5. A copy of the grade card will be accepted for initial documentation; however, you will need to submit official transcripts by October (for September salary movement) or February (for January salary movement).
6. The salary adjustment will not be made until the teacher provides verification of successful completion of the coursework (copy of the grade card, copy of the transcript, or copy of the Re-8 certificate of workshop participation and completion). Verification must be made by the 10th of the month for the salary adjustment to appear on the next
paycheck.
7. Teachers must request an adjustment in pay by filling out the form below. Please return as soon as possible.
