Tuition Reimbursement Guidelines
Weld Re-8 School District Tuition Reimbursement Program
Weld County School District Re-8 is using a limited amount of ballot issue funding (Mill Levy Override 2030) to continue a tuition reimbursement program to aid all active school personnel (licensed and classified) in their pursuit of further education and training in areas that will benefit our students, as well as staff.
Staff members are eligible for this program upon beginning Weld Re-8 employment.
There will be a lifetime maximum reimbursement of $7,000 per person for this program (Tier 1 of $5,000, Tier 2 of $1,000, and Tier 3 of $1,000). Applications/pre-approval forms for any classes taken in for reimbursement should be submitted to HR prior to beginning classes. Reimbursement will be paid in four equal installments over a two-year period on October 25 and May 25 of each of those years. Verification of coursework completion must be submitted to Weld Re-8 HR (transcript or grade card) by October 10 and/or May 10 in order to receive payment in a timely fashion. You must be a current employee in good standing to receive the reimbursements. If a staff member leaves the district during the two-year time period, scheduled reimbursements will cease.
Five years after a staff member receives the total Tier 1 reimbursement of $5,000, they are eligible for Tier 2 reimbursement of $1,000 for additional coursework taken at that time. Five years after receiving Tier 2 reimbursement they are eligible for Tier 3 reimbursement of $1,000 for additional coursework taken at that time. Reimbursement for Tiers 2 and 3 will be in four equal installments on October 25 and May 25 over a two-year period. If a staff member leaves the district during that time period, scheduled reimbursements will cease.
